
1st Star: Christian Cuccia - Florida Atlantic University (D3): 5 goals, 7 assists, 12 points in 2 games
The Florida Atlantic Owls swept their weekend series against Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University by large margins this past weekend. The Owls won game one 15-1 and continued their dominance to win game two 11-1.
Christian Cuccia (27) had twelve points across the weekend, putting up a dominant performance in the two games.
In game one, he contributed to seven of the team’s 15 goals with five assists and scored two goals of his own. In game two, Cuccia completed a hat trick and two assists for five points.
Cuccia leads Division 3 in goals, assists, and total points this season. He has 25 goals and 42 assists for 67 points in just 25 games.
2nd Star: Sam Watson - Florida Atlantic University (D3): 4 goals, 7 assists, 11 points in 2 games
Sam Watson (15) also had a strong showing for the Owls this weekend, reaching double digits in points across the two games.
In game one, Watson had a hat trick and three assists. His first goal of the first period was the game-winner in the high-scoring affair.
He continued producing for his team in game two with four more assists and another goal.
Florida Atlantic University will be back in action at the College Hockey South Division 3 Playoffs Feb. 20-23 in Coral Springs, Florida.
3rd Star: Michael Woll - Florida Southern College (D2): 3 goals, 7 assists, 10 points in 2 games
This past weekend, Michael Woll, a standout forward from Florida Southern College, continued his dominance in Division 2.
During the two-game series against Miami University, he picked up 10 points, eight of which came in game one.
In Game One, he contributed to each of the eight goals the Mocs scored with five assists and a hat-trick; in Game Two, he picked up two additional assists.
Woll currently sits fifth in points in all of Division 2 with 47 on the season. Woll has scored at least a point in every game played thus far this season.
“Great weekend for all the guys. It was our last couple of games of the season, so we were all pretty excited to play. Miami is always a fun weekend for us. The games are pretty rowdy. I am honestly glad I wasn’t suspended,” Woll said.
