Look mom, no roof!
For the first time in the 2024-2025 season, College Hockey South will play two highly anticipated games outdoors at Truist Field in Charlotte, NC.
The first game features College Hockey South’s Vanderbilt Commodores taking on the Duke Blue Devils. Puck drop is at 7:00 PM on Thursday, Nov. 21.
The Commodores are coming off a humbling series sweep at the hands of in-state rival Middle Tennessee State. Vanderbilt still holds third place in the College Hockey South D2 North Division.
In the weekend’s biggest matchup, South Carolina takes on the North Carolina State Ice Pack in a rematch of a hotly contested game earlier this year. Puck Drop is at 7:00 PM on Saturday, Nov. 23.
The Ice Pack won the only meeting between the two teams this year, a back-and-forth 4-3 nail-biter.
Saturday’s Battle at the Ballpark will come less than a day after the Gamecocks take on Tennessee at home, which will be South Carolina’s first action since winning the Veteran’s Cup in Huntsville, AL, on Nov. 10.
Truist Field is the home of the Charlotte Knights, a minor-league baseball team. The ballpark resides in downtown Charlotte, NC, and has previously hosted the Atlantic Coast Conference’s Baseball Tournament in 2021.
