MyHockeyRankings - January 22

Danny Baum

It's already shaping up to be an exciting 2024-25 season with playoffs and Nationals on the horizon. Let's take a look at the teams that are currently positioned well to make a push for Nationals.

College Hockey South Division 1 Teams

With a newcomer currently in the top spot of rankings this week, our teams took a slight dip up top. The competition is incredibly close as Georgia sits in the number two spot, but with Tennessee, Tampa, and South Carolina hot on their heels, it’s going to come down to every game in the final stretch.

The fact that less than half a percent separates these top four teams highlights how tight the race is. It’s going to be a nail-biting stretch as these teams battle it out for top honors and to solidify their position at Nationals.

College Hockey South Division 2 Teams

The positioning among the CHS teams remains relatively stable, with FAU holding firm at number two, closely followed by MTSU, USF, and Tampa, all still sitting within the top 10. As expected, the rankings are still tight, but with Clemson entering the mix now that they’ve started their spring season, things could shift soon.

Other CHS teams ranking: Vanderbilt (27), Lynn (28), Georgia Tech (29), ERAU (30), Florida Southern (33), Alabama-Huntsville (44), Clemson (NR).

College Hockey South Division 3 Teams

It seems like the Division 3 rankings have dealt a tough blow to College Hockey South teams. FAU’s dramatic drop has left them outside the top spots, and with only two teams still in Nationals contention, the battle for those final spots is intensifying.

With Alabama, Kennesaw State, and Georgia on the outside looking in, the competition for the remaining Nationals spots is fierce. It’s going to be an exciting sprint to the finish line, with any slip-up potentially costing teams their chance to compete at Nationals.

Other CHS teams ranking: Alabama (13), Kennesaw State (14), Georgia (15), Florida State (17), Florida Atlantic (18), Florida (23), Florida Tech (31), APSU (42), Miami (44), USF (47), ERAU (49), EKU (51), UNF (52), Alabama-Birmingham (54).
